EMILY ELIZABETH THOMAS
Emily is a writer, director and visual artist who's creative practice is rooted in moral fortitude and advocacy. Emily is immensely proud to have been born and bred in Austin, TX, where she was raised to embody true Southern grit.
Emily got her start in filmmaking at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she studied screenwriting and 16mm film. She then went on to earn a Master of Arts degree from New York University. She cut her teeth in the indie world, writing, directing and producing a dynamic line-up of short films. Her narrative work has been award-winning at festivals such as The Victoria Texas Independent Film Festival and Oslo Independent Film Festival, and has been featured by Milk Studios, We Are Moving Stories, Women & Film, Film Threat, and more.
Emily is most passionate about raw and truthful storytelling which promotes diversity and gender equity in front of and behind the camera.
